Cricket Betting at 55bd — all markets from BPL to T20 World Cup
Bet on the most popular sport in Bangladesh — match winner, toss, top batsman, live in-play and more markets. From understanding odds to how each market works — all explained in Bengali.
The three formats of cricket and the major tournaments
Having a clear understanding of the formats before getting into cricket betting makes it easier to choose markets.
T20 is the shortest and fastest format — each team plays just 20 overs. Matches finish in a few hours, which makes T20 the most popular format among Bangladeshi fans. BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) and IPL (Indian Premier League) are both played in this format. Every Bangladesh Tigers match in the T20 World Cup naturally draws extra excitement from supporters.
ODI (One-Day International) is a longer game — each team gets 50 overs. The Cricket World Cup, ICC Champions Trophy and bilateral series are played in ODI format. Run-based markets here are more varied.
Test cricket lasts up to five days and is the oldest traditional format. A draw is a possible result in Tests, so the match-winner market has three options (Team A wins, Team B wins, Draw).
At 55bd, alongside BPL and IPL, you will also find markets for international series and ICC-organised tournaments.
Football and other sports — what is the difference?
Alongside cricket, 55bd has football and a number of other sports betting markets. The betting structure for each sport is a little different.
Football matches are generally 90 minutes and a draw is a common result, so there are also three options here (1X2). Handicap and goals over/under markets are common in football. Cricket has special markets based on wickets and overs that football does not — but football has its own separate markets like half-time result or corner count.
The basic logic of betting is the same across all sports — understanding odds, choosing a market and deciding your stake. Getting familiar with each sport's own market structure is important.
For those who want to bet on multiple matches or sports at the same time, you can find out in detail how multi bet works on the multi bet page.
5 popular betting markets in cricket
Each market answers a different kind of question. See the explanations below.
Match Winner
Bet on which team will win the match. Two options in T20 and ODI, three in Test (Team A wins, Team B wins, Draw). The simplest market — ideal for beginners.
Toss Winner
Bet on which team will win the toss. It has no direct connection to the match result — it is a pure coin-flip style market, so odds stay roughly even.
Top Batsman
Bet on which batter will score the most runs for their team. Comparative odds are given for the batters within a team.
Total Runs — Over/Under
Bet on whether the total runs in a specific number of overs or across the whole match will be above (over) or below (under) a set number. The pace of wicket-taking and the nature of the pitch are important here.
Top Wicket Taker
Bet on which bowler will take the most wickets. The pitch, weather and bowling lineup all influence this market.
Multi Bet
When you combine bets from multiple matches or markets, the odds multiply and grow larger, but all selections must be correct. Read the detailed rules and examples for multi bet.
Odds in three formats — how do you read them?
Being able to read odds is essential to knowing your potential return before placing a bet. Three formats are in common use — decimal, fractional and American.
Decimal 2.50 = Fractional 3/2 = American +150.
If the bet wins, the total return is ৳500 — ৳300 profit and the original ৳200 stake back. If the bet loses, ৳200 is gone.
Decimal 1.50 = Fractional 1/2 = American -200.
American minus odds show how much you need to stake to win ৳100. On a ৳200 bet the return is ৳300 (৳100 profit).
Decimal format is the easiest because you can keep the full return in mind — stake × decimal odds = total return. Fractional is more common in the UK, American in the US. At 55bd you can choose whichever format you prefer.
Live in-play betting LIVE — bet while the game is on
Alongside pre-match betting, 55bd offers in-play or live betting — meaning you can place bets at any point while the match is in progress.
The biggest feature of live betting is that odds change constantly. When a wicket falls, the bowling side's odds shorten and the batting side's odds lengthen. After a big over, the run-target calculation shifts. Odds for a team that has scored 130 runs in 15 overs update moment to moment based on post-powerplay performance.
In-play has special markets such as "how many runs in the next over" or "who will be the next batter out". These require quick decisions, so attention is needed.
Live betting adds to the enjoyment of watching, but remember that betting is always for entertainment — stay within a set budget. You can read the responsible gaming guidelines.
A few practical tips before you start betting
- Set your budget first. Decide in advance how much you are willing to spend on entertainment. If you are prepared for the possibility of losing, betting stays fun.
- Understand the market before betting. Match winner is the simplest. Total runs or top batsman markets are a bit more complex — practise with simpler markets first.
- Calculate the odds. Work out your potential return before placing a bet. With decimal odds this is straightforward — stake × odds.
- No need to rush decisions in live betting. Odds change after every over — watch how the match is going and decide without rushing.
- Cricket betting is for entertainment. See it as a way to enjoy the game more, not as a source of income.
